Well here I am starting a blog.

The hope for this space is to share updates more frequently as well as share personal insights I learn along the way.

I thought I would start with a little introduction for those who might not know me.

I was born and raised in Northern New Jersey and spent the first 20+ years of my working life building the family business alongside my parents. In 2004 I had my first exposure to mission and ministry in Europe. Observing the vast difference between American Christian culture and that of post-modern, post-christendom Europe was a life-changing experience which led to a decade of study and practice of missional incarnational ministry.

I’ve served as a youth leader, a church planter, and most recently as elder and pastor of a large growing church in NJ, where I trained and empowered leaders and everyday folks to embrace mission as lifestyle. Empowering pioneers for Kingdom advancement is my passion.

I continue to live in Northern New Jersey with my wife of 32 years, Heidi. We’re blessed with two amazing daughters, Madeleine and Brigitte. We love the incredible culture, diversity, and yes, even the challenges that are afforded to us because of our close proximity to New York City – the greatest city in the world!

I currently serve Communitas International as their North American Advancement team leader. I also lead the project Dynamic Adventure which is ”a guide for your team’s journey into the strange and unfamiliar territory of starting or shaping a missional expression of church.” I’m a co-author of the book and responsible for developing “DA” training resources in numerous additional languages. (I’ve lost track of the number, but I think we’re up to about ten different languages.) Want a taste of what DA is all about? Check out our vimeo page here.

I am also passionate about coaching, training and soul care. I am absolutely convinced that fruitful, lasting Kingdom ministry is only possible when it flows from a healthy, well-tended soul that’s intimately connected to Jesus.
